EVE Fan Fest 2006
Chronicles
A hulk lair approaches inhabited space; the drones fiercely defend their habitat.

In a relatively uninspired year for massively multiplayer gaming, Eve stands out as the biggest little game you never played. Massive scope and some of the prettiest graphics anywhere turned us into space pirates overnight, but man, it wasn't easy. Arrr!

Forget Freelancer, EVE is the new Elite. Unparalleled scope to interact, explore and trade - Stylish and detailed graphics - Powerful guild structure - Absolutely vast game world.

....one thing everybody can agree on is that the game is just jaw-droppingly beautiful. Space in EVE Online is stunning -- filled with colored nebulae and planets surrounded by rings of debris. Space stations and ships look incredibly cool, but none of that holds a candle to the avatar creation system....

Eve: The Second Genesis is the logical step for the MMORPG genre. It is the step the genre was bound to take sooner or later and I am extremely happy it was Iceland based developer CCP that took that step. They have now set the bar for the genre, a standard that is likely to hold at least as long as Ian Bells and David Brabens Elite.

Issue #002

Cover feature: 'Empires Strike Back'

The Cold War is about to heat up as the blood-nations of EVE jostle for power against the expanding ambition of the outer alliances. Will you return to your roots and fight for your kin, or remain astride the frontier regions picking up trade as the military build-up increases. Read what CCP has in store for when Factional Warfare breaks out in 2006.
